The Bologna Liver Oncology Group (BLOG) is a multidisciplinary group of physicians committed to improve management, diagnosis and treatment of liver tumors. BLOG includes hepatologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, specialists of infectious diseases and oncologists having all experience in clinical management and devoted to active scientific research, internationally recognized. The BLOG was born in the 2008 from an original idea of Prof. Luigi Bolondi, bringing all experts in the field of liver disease and tumors, that were working at S.Orsola-Malpighi Hospital and the University of Bologna, to share management and clinical trials in liver tumors as a single entity under the name of BLOG. The BLOG is in debt with two great pioneer surgeons who led Bologna Hepato-Biliary surgery to the highest international recognitions and started the liver transplantation program in the second half of the 1980s: Prof. Giuseppe Gozzetti and Prof. Alighieri Mazziotti.
